Staff Development
From Training to Learning - traditionally staff development has been done under the 'Training' umbrella, although training certainly has its place in developing skills we like to be more sensitive, especially with experienced staff, so they do not feel inadequate and de-motivated by being sent on a 'training' course. This can sometimes be a barrier to learning.
Training is working with people from the outside in.
Learning is working with people from the inside out.
Think about it yourself? How much do you remember of what you was taught? But I guess you will remember everything you've learned.
Our courses aim to engage people in learning, and develop their existing skills which will ultimately enable them to meet the challenges ahead.
Our experience shows that people generally accept the need to learn and develop their skills, and with the right approach they will feel comfortable attending sessions they can participate and get involved with.
